Capt. Domenic Petrarca has been a life-long outdoor enthusiast growing up hunting and fishing in southern New England. His love of the sea and boating passion led to his current career path as the founder and captain at Coastal Charters Sportfishing. Beginning his career as a commercial fisherman, it morphed quickly into part-time work as a mate on several charter boats, where his skills were honed working decks of both six pack as well as large party boats, eventually leading him to the helm of his own boat. Captain Dom is a licensed USCG Master Captain with over 20 years of experience chasing large pelagic fish from New England to the Caribbean and Mexico. Over the past 15 seasons Capt. Dom has specialized in light tackle, jigging and popping using strictly artificial offerings for the abundant tuna that visit our area each year. His uncanny knack for both locating as well as hooking and landing tuna addition to his clients besting numerous giant bluefin tuna on spinning tackle have earned him a reputation as being one of the best of the best in the world for this specialized form of fishing. Over the seasons his boat has produced tuna of 200, 300, 400, and in 2014 Dom successfully guided one of his clients into an amazing 597 pound 101" caught on an artificial lure while casting! Captain Dom continues to devote his time and passion to the application of  jigging and top-water popping techniques for bluefin and other species of tuna in waters from Maine to RI. |
